Elbert Creek Campground

Water is currently unavailable** 8/1/22Located off the Halfmoon Road (FSR 110), Elbert Creek is a first-come, first-served campground adjacent to the Mount Elbert and Mount Massive Trailheads at 10,000 feet. This is a very popular campground for hikers. Facilities include picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, and potable water.High altitude sickness may occur at this altitude.Please click on the link for a general map of the Halfmoon Creek Campgrounds.ALERT: The Mt. Elbert Campground is currently closed due to road work on FSR 110. Capacity: 85 Open Season: June 1 Water: Temporarily unavailable. Restroom: Vault toilets are available in the campground. Restrictions: The following restrictions apply to this campground : Maximum 8 persons per site: 2 tents and 2 vehicles or 1 recreation vehicle. Dogs must be leashed at all times. No discharge of firearms or fireworks. Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground. Camping is NOT ALLOWED behind a LOCKED GATE. No camping within 100 feet of the Creek. Off highway vehicles (OHVs) must stay on designated roads and trails.
