Part of the Whitney Portal Recreation area located 13 miles from the town of Lone Pine, California. The main campground has 43 single campsites. Some sites may be reserved in advance, while others are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Some parking sites up to 35 ' long. Firewood for sale. Water, vault toilets, and bear food storage lockers available. Capacity: 225 Fee: Overnight Use: Single Site: $34 per night Additional Vehicle Fee: $10 per vehicle per night Water: Yes, drinking water is available from a hand pump Restroom: Vault toilet(s) Restrictions: Active bear area, bear boxes are provided and must be used (typical bear box size 48" x 30" x 36").
