Hayden Creek Campground
Hayden Creek Campground is a hidden gem on the Salida Ranger District. The campground is small with only eleven sites. It is located on the banks of Hayden Creek and at the base of the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains.The campground is wooded and very secluded. Sites are best suited to tent camping or small trailers or RV's. Vehicles 25 ft. or less work best in the area.Prior to Memorial Day weekend and after Labor Day, trash service may not be available. Capacity: 60 Fee: $22.00 for overnight use as of 2025 summer operating season. Open Season: May 13, 2022 Water: No Restroom: Vault toilet Restrictions: Maximum 8 persons per site: 2 tents and 2 vehicles or 1 recreation vehicle (RV). Maximum length of RV is 30 ft. Dogs must be leashed at all times. No discharge of firearms or fireworks.
